- The Rams can rumble
The Newton County High School football team's 4-win and 3-loss record doesn't show just how tough of a game the Rams gives every opponent by game's end. While I'm sure you'd hear zero excuses from the coaches or players, the fact is - not much separates this squad from a 6-1 record. An overtime loss to a solid Stephenson squad and a 15-8 loss in a close game against a good MLK, Jr. High team are the difference makers in the 6-1 record that could have been. The Rams are still in good shape at 4-3. Newton plays hard until the clock hits 0:00, and don't be surprised if they turn heads and surprise some folks as the playoffs approach.

- Palmer the Playmaker

Northeast High School in Macon, GA can do a good job of keeping their fans on their edge of the seats as they fight their way back into a game. The team has done that multiple times this season, including their most recent nailbiter against Central High. While it's been a true team effort, the spark plug to their offense has been QB Michael Palmer. Palmer's balance is valuable. Whether it's a pretty game or not, when needed, he has been able to move some chains through the passing game and be a serious threat to say the least when he's out of the pocket making plays with his feet.
